What is schema.org and why your site needs it

Nikola CerićFounder & CEO, Manage IT

Structured data helps Google understand content and can bring richer search results (stars, FAQ, breadcrumbs).

Schema.org is a standardised "language" (an agreed code format) with which your page explicitly tells Google exactly what it displays — whether it is a service, an article, a product with a price, or a list of frequently asked questions — instead of Google having to assume it purely from the page's text.

What structured data concretely brings

Richer, visually more prominent search results — for example, when a page has FAQ schema, Google sometimes directly shows an expanded list of questions and answers beneath the title in the results themselves, taking up more visual space and attracting more attention than an ordinary result.

Better, more precise understanding of the page's context and topic by Google's algorithm, helping more precise and accurate ranking for relevant searches.

For some content types (reviews, products with a price), rating stars or the price can appear directly in search results, additionally attracting the click.

Where it is concretely used

On service pages (Service schema), on blog articles (BlogPosting schema), on the about page (Organization schema), and on FAQ sections (FAQPage schema).

We embed the appropriate schema.org markup on every page we build, because it is an invisible implementation cost (a few extra lines of code) with a clear, measurable potential benefit in search visibility and click-through rate.
